This piece was part of a design for a Raised By Wolves poster, but I decided to illustrate an A3 version in pencil colour first, to get a basis for the size and shape!

Virgil Finlay

I recently discovered the illustrator Virgil Finlay, he began his career working for sci fi comics. Drawing influences from mythology, magic aswell as good & evil, these elements flow effortlessly throughout his work. His painstaking technique of etching adds another dimension to his work! Much of his work only became popular after his death in 1971!
