I recently discovered the illustrator Virgil Finlay, he began his career working for sci fi comics. Drawing influences from mythology, magic aswell as good & evil, these elements flow effortlessly throughout his work. His painstaking technique of etching adds another dimension to his work! Much of his work only became popular after his death in 1971!

My most recent work are some native americans Ive drawn using black pencil and ink! I dont know what it is about old people that fascinates me, maybe its their lives, what they have seen and done. When you look into their faces you can see knowledge, wisdom but also the physical tole has taken on their body and minds.

I drew this picture recently, using only pencil. It was a bit strange using pencil again, but i found it effective for the shading and highlighting specific areas.

I almost went blind drawing this picture, as it is quite a strain on the eyes! Ive combined two styles of my work here. One more graphical style, and the other using bright colours fading into one another.

Sorry I havnt posted anything for a while now, I've been on holiday. I've also been busy designing flyers for our new club nights starting in Sept. Also been working on some new pieces which is taking a long time, but should be up on the site in week or so. Im trying to get some of my image printed onto t-shirts which will be available to buy soon!

The second top drawing (William Macy) was actually the first drawing I did using this style with colour pencils. I like to include as much colour as possible when I draw more realistically, as it challenges the idea of reality within the work.
